In recent years, many groups of Vietnamese have been returned home after being tricked into illegal labor establishments in Cambodia. On the morning of September 21, 71 workers from Cambodia were brought to Tay Ninh province. 56 of these people escaped from a casino about 500 meters from the border gate on September 17. The remaining people were rescued by the authorities after the incident was discovered.

Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng said on September 19 that the country received 289 offers to rescue victims of human trafficking in the past month. He added that 95% of rescue offers are true. Cases were mainly recorded in Sihanoukville province.
