On behalf of the Party, State and people of China, I sincerely thank you for sending your condolences over Comrade Jiang Zemin’s death, and convey to you the thanks of Comrade Jiang Zemin’s family. People.
Comrade Jiang Zemin, together with Vietnamese leaders, promoted the normalization of China-Vietnam relations, establishing the 16-word motto “friendly neighbourliness, comprehensive cooperation, long-term stability, towards the future”, has a profound influence on the development of Sino-Vietnamese relations.
Recently, comrade General Secretary had a very successful visit to China. Together, we discussed major directions for the development of Sino-Vietnamese relations, and reached important common ground.
I attach great importance to the development of China-Vietnam relations, and am ready to join you in efforts to promote the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era to constantly step up to new heights.

Former Chinese President Jiang Zemin passed away at noon on November 30, 2022 in Shanghai. He suffered from leukemia and multiple organ failure, although he was treated but did not survive. He is 96 years old.
Jiang Zemin has not appeared in public since late 2019 due to obvious signs of ill health.
Mr. Jiang Zemin was the one who brought China into the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2001. By the time he finished his presidency in 2003, China was already a member of the WTO.
