Her account is opened at Cam Ranh Transaction Office – Sacombank Khanh Hoa.

According to Ms. Duong, lawyer Nguyen Van Trinh, head of the Legal Department authorized by Sacombank, called to ask her to negotiate and settle the loss of 46.9 billion dong after she submitted a petition to the Ministry of Public Security. Mr. Trinh suggested that she have an application for the bank to settle according to her wishes.

After that, Ms. Duong filed an application on March 21, the bank paid 25 billion dong from her account. With 21.9 billion dong left, she proposed to open a savings book at Sacombank named Ho Thi Thuy Duong, with a term of 4 months. At the requested withdrawal time limit, the bank will return the principal and interest as prescribed from the date on which the above amount is temporarily seized.

Meanwhile, according to a press release on March 17, Sacombank said that Ms. Duong provided one-way, incomplete information and did not reflect the true nature of the incident. Examining the records, this bank discovered that there was evidence of borrowing and social business cooperation between Ms. Duong and a number of individuals who were former officers and employees of Cam Ranh Transaction Office for many years. For 12 transactions in which Ms. Duong lost money, Sacombank confirmed that there were all documents signed by Ms. Duong to receive money, including 9 cash receipts and 3 payment orders. These documents have been transferred by Sacombank to the Police Department of Khanh Hoa Province.

All transactions take place between 18 and 21 hours, outside office hours.

Ms. Duong affirmed that she did not authorize or let anyone act on her behalf to carry out these transactions. Because Sacombank did not return the money, Ms. Duong sent a petition to the State Bank and the Criminal Investigation Agency for corruption, economy and smuggling (C03 – Ministry of Public Security).

Previously, in November 2022, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police Investigation Agency prosecuted the accused, detained Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Ha (47 years old, former Deputy Transaction Office of Sacombank Cam Ranh) and Ms. Ngo Thi Hong Nhan. 41 years old, former treasurer of Sacombank Cam Ranh Transaction Office) to investigate the crime of property embezzlement.

Also being prosecuted for the same crime but released on bail are Nguyen Tra My (23 years old) and Ngo Nu Hong Hai (47 years old), former teller at Sacombank Cam Ranh Transaction Office.

Initial investigation results determined that from August 2022, due to needing money, Nguyen Thi Thanh Ha arbitrarily used customer information (account number, savings card number) and directed Ngo Thi Hong Nhan many times to , Nguyen Tra My, Ngo Nu Hong Hai made false credit records (borrowing money with collateral as customer’s savings cards), the purpose is to make false documents for closing and withdrawing money from savings cards of customers. client. Thereby, these defendants appropriated large amounts of money from banks and customers.
