Nguyen Trung Cuong, a taxi driver, said that when transporting passengers on the highway yesterday, he panicked when he saw several motorbikes going in the opposite direction, some of which were not even wearing helmets.
“On the first day of traffic, many people may not know it, but when faced with such unexpected situations, the driver becomes very difficult to handle and is heartbroken. I think that when traffic is cleared, the management unit needs to check. , overcome this unsafe situation”, said Mr. Cuong.

What do highway investors say?
The representative of Son Hai Group, investor of Nha Trang – Cam Lam Expressway, confirmed the situation of motorcycles and pedestrians entering the expressway.
Many people even go up, climb railings, medians to cross the street. The cattlemen grazing nearby also carelessly trudged onto the highway.
Mr. Nguyen Van Huy – director of Nha Trang – Cam Lam Expressway Investment Company Limited (Son Hai Group) – said that in the immediate future the company will install 2 checkpoints at Km15 and Km47 to propagate and remind people. Expressway.
The investor also sent documents to the locations to coordinate advertising and make people aware of participating in traffic.
“Currently, the company has been working with the Traffic Police Department and proposed to deal with cases of motorcycles and bicycles violating road safety,” said Huy.

Although the technical traffic has been cleared, but according to the records at the construction site, many ancillary items and roads leading to the Nha Trang – Cam Lam Expressway have not been completed. In that regard, Mr. Huy said it would allow workers to actively build and complete before September 2023.
Mr. Pham Van Trong – deputy head of Khanh Hoa province’s traffic safety bureau – said he had just learned about people and livestock entering the highway. The Board will send a written request to the investor and the management unit to secure the expressway.

Nha Trang – Cam Lam Expressway is more than 49 km long, starting from Dien Khanh district and ending in Cam Ranh town, Khanh Hoa. The total investment is over VND 7,600 billion, implemented in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), BOT (build-operate-transfer) contract, Son Hai Group Co., Ltd. is the investor.
Construction of the expressway begins in September 2021. In the divergence phase, the project invests in the construction of a 17m-wide pavement for 4 traffic lanes with a speed of 80km/h. Then elevate road 32m wide, 6 lanes.
The entire route has 4 toll stations located at the intersections of Dien Khanh, Suoi Dau, Cam Lam and Cam Ranh. The toll collection method does not stop, the term is around 16 years and 4 months.
In the immediate future, the project has yet to charge fees under the BOT contract.
