Speed is important these days, but charging an electric vehicle takes a lot of time. Ample cuts that time by building a battery change station in just 5 minutes.
In the past, phones mostly used removable batteries, which were easily replaced when there was a problem, or wanted to fill up the battery quickly for those who didn’t have the patience to wait for a charge. This technology eventually fell out of favor as flash batteries became the norm.
But with electric cars it can be different.
Over the years, many names have tried to develop battery-swapping technology, including Tesla. But Ample can take the lead when it comes to designing a battery change station that’s as quick as filling up a gas tank.
Ample’s battery changer station looks pretty cool. According to the company, the station will detect whether it is a tram or not. When authenticated, the door will automatically rise. Once the vehicle is in place, the driver can initiate the battery change through the Ample app on the phone. 5 minutes later it’s ready.
Ample’s battery change station will also not be conventionally built, but modularly designed. Thus, in a few days you will have a battery exchange station with one or more compartments depending on the location.
According to Carscoops, if it fulfills its promise, the Ample battery exchange station will change many people’s prejudices about electric cars.
