On May 22, Dr. Tran Thanh Son – deputy director of the International Center for Science and Interdisciplinary Education (ICISE, in Quy Nhon) – said that the Mathematical Physics Summer School took place at ICISE and Quy Nhon University from August 1 to August 5, many scientists famous people will participate in lectures, exchanges and discussions with students.

In addition to the two host sites, this Mathematical Physics Summer School is sponsored by the Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) and the International Association of Mathematical Physics (IAMP).

4 courses presented by ‘excellent’ scientists

According to the organizers, the summer school speakers were invited by the scientific council, including Professor Nguyen Trong Toan (Pennsylvania State University, USA) and Professor Phan Thanh Nam (University of Munich, Germany).

According to Prof. Phan Thanh Nam, as part of the summer school, from the 1st to the 4th of August, at Quy Nhon University, there will be 4 math courses that he says are “excellent”. That is:

– The Doctor. John RL Anderson from Stanford University (USA) will give a lecture on “Nonlinear Waves in Fluids and General Relativity”.

– Prof. Dang Nguyen Viet from Paris Sorbonne University (France) lectured on “Some Aspects of Stochastic Quantization”.

– Prof. Mathieu Lewin of Paris Dauphine University (France) lectured on “Statistical Mechanics of Coulomb and Riesz Gases” (Statistical Mechanics of Coulomb and Riesz Gases).

– Prof. Nguyen Le Luc from the University of Oxford (UK) lectured on “Analysis of topological defects in nematic liquid crystals”.

“The lectures in this summer school will start with basic and easy-to-understand content suitable for university students, graduate students and young researchers”, said Prof. Phan Thanh Nam.

Mass lectures are suitable for students and students

Furthermore, on the afternoon of August 3rd, at Quy Nhon University, there will be a public lecture by Prof. Sergiu Klainerman, from Princeton University (USA), on mathematical theory for singularities and black holes.

Professor Klainerman’s mass lectures will be suitable for a large number of students and students who love science.

“Professor Klainerman is known for his extensive contributions to research on hyperbolic differential equations and general relativity. This time in Vietnam, he will speak at the 2023 Annual Conference at VIASM on the 30th and 7th at the invitation of Prof. Ngo Bao Chau, before attending summer school in Quy Nhon” – added Prof. Phan Thanh Nam.

On the last day of the summer school, at ICISE there will be an international conference with 6 guest lectures from young mathematicians: Dr. Maria Alejandra Ramirez Luna from the University of California Santa Cruz (USA), Dr. Konstantin Merz of Osaka University (Japan), Dr. Nguyen T. Trinh from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA), Dr. Tran Minh Phuong of Ton Duc Thang University (Vietnam), Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thi from Uppsala University (Sweden) and Ngo Quoc Anh Associate from the University of Natural Sciences (Vietnam National University, Hanoi).

Apply to attend the Mathematical Physics Summer School by May 30

According to the organizers, this summer school is expected to kick off a long-term program to develop mathematical physics in Vietnam, Southeast Asia and other Asian countries.

The summer school will have many scholarships to support travel and accommodation for young people in Vietnam. Discussion topics are carefully selected to present important open problems in classical and quantum physics, along with insightful questions in many areas of mathematics, such as spectrum theory, function solving, partial differential equations, geometry, and probability.

Those interested and young people who love physics and mathematics can find out and apply for the summer school at https://viasm.edu.vn/hdkh/iamp2023 from now until May 30th.
