Meng Yun, 29, suffering from a developmental disability that makes her body look like that of a 4-year-old, decided to donate her organs after her death to repay everyone’s love for her.
Meng Yun, from eastern China’s Anhui province, has a developmental disorder that makes her look like a 4-year-old and is unable to move on her own. She was abandoned by her parents when she was born and was discovered on the street by Mrs. Gao Zhiping, 74, is adopted.
The daughter of Mrs. Gao said that her mother wholeheartedly cared for Meng as if he were her own nephew, even though her family was not wealthy. She said her mother once said, “Other children are loved by their parents, but Meng has no one.”

The underdeveloped disease meant that Meng could only control her neck and head, having to lie on her stomach for a long time to be more comfortable. Mrs. Gao devotedly cared for Meng until her death not long ago.
Before her death, Meng decided to donate organs claiming that she had received so much love but had nothing in return but herself. She hopes to bring hope to many people in need, the SCMP said on May 23.
“If my cornea can help, please help me see the world,” Meng said.

Meng’s story has touched many Chinese social media users.
“The little angel has returned to heaven,” commented one account. Other social media users hope that Meng will have a healthy body in her next life and be loved by her parents.
