According to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) in Europe, fashion designer Cao Thi Huyen (Rose Cao), a Vietnamese foreigner in Serbia, has become the first Vietnamese woman to win the award at the 2023 Chelsea Flower Show. most prestigious annual flower in the world. exhibition organized by Hiep Hiep. Cao Thi Huyen said his design depicts the image of a flame, using a variety of flowers in shades of purple and yellow to create natural light shining on the lamppost.

The design is plastic-free in line with the Chelsea Flower Show criteria for the development of sustainable and eco-friendly horticulture.

To participate in the exhibition, which is considered the last round of flower designers in the world, Cao Thi Huyen took 6 months to prepare and submit the project for approval by the exhibition organizers.

At the exhibition, the winners of the floral design category must undergo an evaluation by 50 judges.

Cao Thi Huyen said the award is a reward for his constant efforts. She is delighted to have the opportunity to present the floral art of a Vietnamese designer to flower lovers in the UK.

She also hopes the award will inspire Vietnamese floral designers to attend big games like the Chelsea Flower Show.

Before becoming a professional floral designer, Cao Thi Huyen worked for the Schlumberger Petroleum Group in Singapore.

The love affair with flowers came to Cao Thi Huyen when she fell in love with her current husband. Every week, receiving flowers from her lover but unable to plant them, Cao Thi Huyen decided to take flower arranging classes as a way to show her appreciation for her lover’s gift and at the same time relax due to stressful work.

His love for flowers grew when he attended a professional course at the Nobleman School of Floral Design (Singapore), where he proved his ability thanks to his innate talent for painting.

After that, Cao Thi Huyen decided to try her luck at the Singapore Garden Festival 2016 flower show, in which she had to go through 4 rounds and won one of the contest’s two silver prizes (no gold).

This achievement is the motivation for Cao Thi Huyen to pursue the path of professional flower art.

With the silver award at the Chelsea Flower Show, Cao Thi Huyen was eligible to study as an international judge in floral art, a goal she is aiming for in her career.

Royal annual flower show

Held from 23rd to 27th May at the Royal Chelsea Hospital in London, the Chelsea Flower Show 2023 brings together nearly 300 leading UK and international companies, nursery, garden and florist designers, attracting nearly 200,000 visitors.

This year’s exhibition features more than 100 garden and flower designs and 270 booths showcasing horticultural products.

The expo is a favorite destination for members of the royal family, celebrities, and professional and amateur gardeners alike.

The late Queen Elizabeth II is a regular visitor to the exhibition with over 50 exhibits.
