On August 9, Kia officially announced a lot of details about the new generation of the K3. In this return, the Kia K3 is no longer the equivalent of the Cerato. Instead, it’s a facelifted version of the Rio that’s a segment smaller.
The move makes it easier for the company to rearrange the sedan lineup in order of size from smallest to largest according to a new naming scheme: K3 (Rio), K4 (Cerato) and K5 (Optima).
In terms of design, the exterior of the Kia K3 2024 instantly differentiates itself from the older version while adopting the new K5 platform. Therefore, the interface of the car is far more modern, sporty and rich with the curved fastback structure.
The nose of the Kia K3 2024 is more aggressive, it gets a new tiger nose radiator along with a pair of modern headlights with LED daytime running lights. Dark colored wheel arches and dual raised lines form the main attraction on the side of the car next to the mentioned curved roofline.
The tail interface is neat and clean with the highlight being a new pair of LED taillights connected by a small horizontal light bar.

Soon after this return of the Kia K3 a GT-Line pseudo-sport variant was also announced, which included some unique features such as larger air intakes, dual exhaust pipes or 17-inch wheels.

The vehicle’s dimensions have been revealed to be 4,545 mm long, 1,765 mm wide, 1,475 mm high and 2,670 mm long wheelbase.
Compared to the older Kia Rio sedan, the frame is significantly larger with 160 mm in length, 40 mm in width, 15 mm in height and a 90 mm longer wheelbase.
The interiors of the Kia K3 2024 are confirmed to have “modern space and good quality”, which is better than competitors in the same segment.
Some of the key highlights revealed by the company are digital dashboard and a bigger screen incorporating a 10.25-inch central touch screen, a new steering wheel inspired by the EV6 electric SUV, minimalistic dashboard, Apple CarPlay / wireless Android Auto with support for up to 2 devices have bluetooth. Connected at the same time, USB-C ports for both rows of seats, automatic 2-zone air conditioning, 64-color backlighting or rear-seat air vents…

The luggage compartment volume increased from 505 to 544 liters. The front passenger compartment also promises to be spacious. However, the Korean brand has not released the pictures of this region.
Safety equipment and technologies integrated by the company in the Kia K3 2024 include 6 airbags, ABS brakes, electronic balance control, frontal collision avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, blind spot sensing and scene detection, rear cross-traffic alert or driver distraction warning.
The newly equipped Kia K3 2024 engine has been revealed to be a 1.6L 4-cylinder with 121 HP and 157 Nm torque, mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The GT-Line pseudo-sport version used a 150-horsepower 2.0L engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
Full details including equipment configuration, interiors and pricing of the car will be announced in October.
