The accident occurred on August 28 (US time) when a Broward County Sheriff’s Office fire helicopter was on its way to North Lauderdale for an emergency medical rescue.

A firefighting helicopter carrying three people caught fire. As a result of the accident, two people died and four others were injured.
The unfortunate victim has been identified as 50-year-old Capt. Terrisson Jackson of the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
He was one of three people on board the helicopter when the accident happened and has 19 years of experience.
A police source said, “The second victim has been identified as a woman lying on the ground.”

“Four people on board the helicopter, including the pilot and doctors, were injured, as well as two others on the ground,” the source said. “His condition is not critical,” he added.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the US National Transportation Safety Board in coordination with local police.
