Atlas Montgomery is an English boy, his father Will Montgomery is 31 years old and mother Bex Lewis is 29 years old. The family of three have been traveling across Europe in a mobile home since the baby was 6 weeks old while Louise was on maternity leave.

“I never thought it would be possible to travel with a newborn. It sounds unrealistic, but it turns out it’s not that difficult,” the mom shared with media company SWNS.

He added, “It’s amazing to be able to watch her grow little by little. It’s wonderful that the whole family can travel together.”

Her journey began from New Zealand to Singapore to meet her husband’s family. Then, they bought a Fiat Ducato for about $14,000 so Atlas could meet his grandparents.

To date, many of Atlas’ important milestones have been marked in many different countries: he learned to crawl in Switzerland, grew his first tooth in Norway and started eating solid food in France.

He also visited several other countries, including Italy, San Marino, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Czechia, Denmark and Norway.

The family documented the trip on their Instagram page, hoping Atlas will enjoy it as he grows. “Atlas has been to 23 countries,” Lewis said. When we finish the journey, the number will be 25. It’ll be interesting when he grows up and looks back at the memories.”

Before embarking on the trip, the couple saved money, sold most of their belongings, terminated their lease, and purchased a vehicle to use as a mobile home. Lewis said his trailer has plenty of space, including a bathroom with a shower, 10 cabinets, a sink, a toilet and two desks.

He chose to travel smart and economical, spending only US$4 per day on food. “We eat out only once at each destination to enjoy the local cuisine. But Italy is an exception to this. The food there is very delicious,” Lewis said happily.

Although his journey was exciting, his family members were also quite worried before his departure. Their concerns also forced the couple to wonder whether they should travel to multiple countries

“We were lucky that our family supported us, but deep inside they were quite skeptical. Outwardly, they didn’t say anything, but casual statements like ‘You’re braver than me’ almost forced us to cancel the trip. Gave.”

However, the couple proved to the skeptics that they were wrong. “It shows that you should do what’s best for your family, no matter what other people think,” Lewis told SWNS.

Lewis is very proud of his small family: “We don’t try to prove anything to anyone, but we feel proud when we can do something.”
