Built by Marchi Mobile – a subsidiary of Marchi Holding AG, a European auto company specializing in health care-oriented vehicles – the Element Palazzo Superior has been called “the world’s most luxurious mobile home”.

Depending on configuration, each unit costs US$2–4 million and takes about 2 years to build. The mobile home has a unique appearance, a body made of carbon fiber material and thick outer walls to protect the interior space – Photo: Marchi Mobile Vienna

“To be honest, I first designed Elements out of personal interest. I am tired of the products being offered in the market. Most mobile homes have much the same design and function. I don’t want to be a part of that wave of boredom. I wanted to create something that stood out and was unique,” Marchi Group founder Mario Marchi told CNN Travel – Photo: CNN

Marchi began sketching the design for the Element in 2005, the hand-drawn model was born in 2010 and officially presented to the world in 2012. Since then, every detail has been improved. This is because each element is made to order, not mass produced. This way the company can update and innovate regularly. This explains why the Element is considered the “Rolls-Royce of the mobile home world” – Photo: Marchi Mobile Vienna
“Mobile Home Like 4D Cinema”

One of the first notable points of the Element Palazzo Superior is the uniquely designed head, the huge windshield resembles an enlarged fish eye, and the driver’s seat is placed extremely high. This is because the cockpit inspired by a helicopter is located on the second floor, giving the feeling of flying over the street – Photo: Marchi Mobile Vienna, GQ

The cabin resembles an airplane cockpit with captain’s chairs and a digital aviation control panel. “I’ve driven all kinds of vehicles in my life, and I have to say that this is the most amazing and impressive driving experience. It’s like being in a 4D cinema with a 180 degree view, it’s amazing.”, said Mario Marchi. – Photo: Marchi Mobile Vienna

Aerodynamic design reduces fuel consumption. The company says the 28-tonne vehicle has a drag coefficient of 0.36, which is about 20% better performance than a similarly sized mobile home. For comparison, an average sports car has a drag coefficient of 0.30 – Photo: Marchi Mobile Vienna
Make yourself at home

One of Marchi’s favorite areas is the living room with a sofa, 42-inch LED TV, bar and wine rack. “The floor plan we have created is very comfortable, it is designed to allow the owner to feel inviting but still have his or her own space,” he said. – Photo: Marchi Mobile Vienna
like a king

The master bedroom also has a separate “spa room” with shower and light therapy, giving the feeling of being in a luxury hotel – Photo: Marchi Mobile Vienna

Similar to a super yacht, this mobile home has a terrace called the Sky Lounge, which is accessed by an automated lift. There is a terrace, a Steinway and Lyngdorf sound system and floor heating. Everything is done at the touch of a button. Normally, it would be placed in the body of the car to avoid entanglement – Photo: Marchi Mobile Vienna

Marchi says the interior is inspired by Italian history and his personal taste in Venetian style. If desired, customers can order a redesign. Like meeting room or second bedroom. “We are very flexible. Our customers have different goals and preferences, so every car we make is unique,” said Marchi – Photo: Marchi Mobile Vienna

He added, “Many customers love the feeling of driving a space rocket on the road. There are also many enthusiastic collectors who are looking for something completely different.” – Photo: Marchi Mobile Vienna
