In early September in Munich, MINI officially launched the third generation of its flagship line, the Countryman. The SUV is now bigger and more spacious due to the significantly increased frame size.
Additionally, the default powertrain of the new Mini Countryman will be pure electric. Although gasoline and diesel versions are still available, they are only secondary and have not been announced yet.
There are 2 electric versions of the Mini Countryman 2024 in pure electric drive configuration. The lower version uses a single motor with 201 horsepower/250Nm to drive the front wheels, the higher version uses a double motor with 308 horsepower/494Nm to drive both wheels.
The maximum operating range of both these versions is 462 km. Specifications of the gasoline and diesel versions are unknown, but they are expected to be similar to the BMW X1.

In terms of size, the 2024 Mini Countryman is now 130 mm (4,429 mm) longer than its predecessor, 60 mm taller and slightly wider to create a more imposing stance. Despite the larger frame, the exterior of the car now has the lowest air resistance coefficient in the history of this brand (0.26 Cd compared to 0.31 of the older version).
To achieve this result, the car’s exterior uses the company’s new design language called Seductive Simplicity. The main elements of the previous car design are retained, but in a much simplified chassis. The frame, which previously primarily used curves, now features sharp lines.

At the front of the car, the pentagonal radiator is slightly larger than before, and most of it is now painted in the same body colour. The LED headlights have been made smaller and placed higher than before. The floating roof, larger wheels up to 20 inches, hidden door handles, square wheel arches and different C-pillars in each equipment configuration are the main highlights on the side of the car. The rear of the car is equipped with slimmer matrix LED taillights. All exterior chrome trim was removed.
The interior of the Mini Countryman 2024 is as simple and clean as the exterior. The car has a round OLED screen in the center of the dashboard, like the new Cooper, running the Mini OS 9 operating system. This screen is now responsible for displaying all the necessary information for users, if they do not want to purchase a HUD screen in front of the steering wheel…

The center control cluster position retains 5 mechanical control buttons for only the 5 most important features: brake, gear shift, start/stop, driving mode and volume. All the materials used inside the cabin are eco-friendly.
The rear seats can be pulled forward/backward by 13 cm to expand legroom or storage space depending on user preference. The default rear luggage compartment volume is 460 liters (maximum 1,450 liters), not including the hidden compartment below.
The Mini Countryman 2024 will be on sale from early next year and a specific price list will be announced at that time.
