The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that Kim Jong-un grandly observed the military parade being held at Kim Il Sung Square.

The event was also attended by a Chinese delegation led by Vice Premier Liu Guozhong and members of the Russian Military Song and Dance Troupe. This time Russia did not send its delegation.
The parade comes amid reports that Kim Jong-un may travel to Vladivostok to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin next week to discuss a possible arms deal.

According to KCNA, the paramilitary parade included highly mobile motorcycle convoys and anti-tank missile launchers.

The North Korean leader also welcomed the delegation from Beijing and held talks in a friendly atmosphere.
Both sides agreed to develop friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and further strengthen coordination and cooperation in a number of areas.
According to Yonhap news agency, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of North Korea’s independence, the leaders of Russia and China sent congratulatory messages to Kim Jong-un.
Mr. Vladimir Putin said North Korea and Russia will expand strategic bilateral cooperation in all areas to contribute to ensuring security and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia.

Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed his commitment to developing traditional friendly relations between Pyongyang and Beijing regardless of international and regional political circumstances.
The parade came as North Korea launched a new tactical nuclear attack submarine capable of undersea nuclear attacks and leader Kim Jong-un promised to further strengthen the country’s nuclear deterrent.
