Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at the Vostochny space center in the Amur region on September 13, according to a video released by the Kremlin.
According to RT, Mr Putin said the meeting is particularly symbolic as 2023 will mark 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two sides.
The North Korean leader thanked Putin for extending the invitation to Russia for the summit and his “very warm welcome”.

According to RT, Mr Putin arrived at the Vostochny space center after attending the Eastern Economic Forum in the city of Vladivostok on September 11 and 12. Meanwhile, leader Kim Jong-un arrived in Russia on September 12.
Commenting on the Russia–North Korea summit, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on September 12 that the talks would focus on a number of “sensitive” issues, bilateral economic and cultural cooperation as well as the general situation in the region.
