The Red Bull Soapbox has been held every year since 2000 in several different countries. On the days of the event, many riders from all over the world, most of them amateurs, some of them professionals, gather. Again, bringing with them the most ridiculous homemade cars they could think of and build.

Even though it was a race, the engines were not used in the participating cars. It all depends on the ability to roll downhill. There is only a steering wheel for direction and brakes to slow down or stop to ensure safety – Photo: Red Bull

But just rolling down the slope isn’t hard enough. On the track, domestic cars must find ways to overcome obstacles such as water, tunnels and even a car wash system filled with soap bubbles – Photo: Red Bull
Some of the outstanding racing teams that have crossed the finish line in the Red Bull Soapbox:

“Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” is a famous 1990s sitcom that starred actor Will Smith. Looking at the picture, it turns out that the team liked the film so much that they recreated the two characters played by Carlton Banks and Will Smith and their car. “Carlton” drives while “Smith” dances happily behind – Photo: Team Fresh Prince/Facebook

Although very interesting, perhaps this make-up made the car more unstable, when descending a slope the car tilted and crashed into a fence made of straw. In the end, they still crossed the finish line in just an empty frame car – Photo: Team Fresh Prince/Facebook

Bearing a name that means “pan” in Italian, the egg-clad La Padella team set off with a small cloud of smoke. Despite encountering many obstacles along the way the car reached the finish line and only lost “one egg” – Photo: Red Bull

This group of engineers created a car based on the name of the race. “Soapbox” literally means soap box. So, a car resembling a bathtub on four wheels took part in a race in Johannesburg, South Africa, with the drivers shirtless as if they were taking a real bath. In addition, they did not forget to add many “amenities” to the car such as shampoo bottles, bath sponges and a showerhead that sprays what looks like shaving cream while racing on the track – Photo: Red Bull

This homemade car took 150 hours (equivalent to more than 6 days without food) and 1,000 pounds to build. Made primarily of cardboard, paper and steel, the car looks like the Joker’s vehicle. And the driver was actually dressed as a clown. Very few people thought about building a car from wet materials while participating in the race in London, famous for its bad weather. Fortunately, the weather on the day of participation was not bad enough for the car to successfully cross the finish line – Photo: Red Bull

At first glance, many people will think this is a domestic vehicle built along the lines of a common mobile home: a tractor-trailer car and a trailer behind. But in fact, here, “trailer” is “tractor”. Even the commentator at that time could not believe his eyes and said that for the first time someone had run backwards till the finish line. But then, the “trailer” was opened and everyone was surprised – Photo: solifer_pojat/Instagram, Red Bull

After the 2022 race, Alex Hirschi, real name of Supercar Blondie, recalled: “My heart was pounding during the whole race, I was going 50 km/h without a seat belt and didn’t know it I was wondering whether the car would break or not. A few moments after the first jump, Sergei seemed to fly from his chair and had to catch my head to regain balance. I was temporarily blinded and did not know that I Where was going. In the last jump, we went at a speed of 55 km/h. We went straight down the ramp, the brakes went off, everything in the car fell down. It was scary, but also very interesting” – Photo :Supercar Blondie
