The person who posted the video asked the online community for answers on this strange incident. Shortly after, an Indian user offered a “strange” explanation.
This person said that the exhaust pipe of the ship’s toilet was open. If someone uses it, the garbage will fall on the tracks. Vehicles stop only for their own safety.
However, another user raised objection. This person said India has phased out older-style toilets and replaced them with more modern systems for ships. This person wrote, “I think people may be stopping because the bridge is weak. The pier of the bridge may collapse.”
Agreeing, another person wrote that “open” toilet systems no longer exist. If you look closely, you can see that the bridge is quite rusted, which is prone to accidents. Therefore, vehicles stopped to prevent the possibility of being hit by trains and bridges.
Another person pointed out the spiritual element in the situation: “This is because the Indians believe that it is a bad omen to walk under a bridge with a ship passing overhead.”
Whatever the reason, at least the video has generated a few laughs in the online community.
