Moonstone is named after a transparent gemstone that can refract light or reflect off other “glass surfaces” around it. Peter van Geest, the designer who took part in the creation of this super yacht, said: “The inspiration for Moonstone was taken from nature. Usually, boats look as if they break the horizon. We wanted to create something that blends into the horizon. Go” – Photo: Oceanco

The body of the 90-metre-long Moonstone is made up of 600 individual dimmable LED panels, which are used to create unlimited lighting schemes, including glowing gemstone light effects at sunset or a dark night – Photo: Oceanco

The lighting panels draw power from 70 solar panels on the upper deck. The designers estimate that if the solar panels are exposed to the sun all day, they will provide enough energy to provide a light show on the boat’s hull for 3 hours – Photo: Osyanko

But that doesn’t mean Moonstone runs entirely on solar power. Because the engine is still conventional. Moonstone uses twin engines delivering 4,828 horsepower per engine and a maximum speed of 18 knots (33.3 km/h) – Photo: Oceanco

Apart from the unique body, Moonstone is also equipped with many luxurious amenities such as a helipad, a 360-degree view lounge to enjoy the beautiful night sky, a Jacuzzi, a beach club and a stylish interior. The walls of the large swimming pool are covered with lightweight panels, allowing the owner to synchronize both the body and the pool according to the same theme – Photo: Osyanko

The interior is designed to be flexible, allowing adaptability to a variety of journeys. Accommodation for 12-14 people, with the owner’s room having a private veranda and yard – Photo: Oceanco

To date, the price of the Moonstone has not been disclosed, although the miniature model was introduced at the Dubai Yacht Show in 2016. Regardless of the price, it doesn’t affect who owns it.
