Student team won the championship twice in a row
This afternoon, October 29, the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) announced that Team HCMUSSmokinTomatoes (including students Le Bao Hiep, Nguyen Vu Dang Hui, Ho Ngoc Vinh Phat) won the first place. The World at the 17th IEEExtreme Competition in 2023.
This is the second time in a row that this student team from the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) has won the world championship in the IEEExtreme international programming competition.
IEEEXtreme is a competition organized by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) in online format.
This year’s test takes place over 24 consecutive hours from 7:00 am on October 28th to 7:00 am on October 29th, with over 7,000 teams from over 65 countries officially competing (a total of over 16,000 candidates) participate. All over the world.

This year, the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) participated with six competitive teams, notably achieving 1st place, 7th place, 16th place, 20th place, 22nd place and 79th place in the world:

Thus, for the last five consecutive years (from 2019 to present), students of the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) have always been in the top ranking of the IEEExtreme competition.
