Thach Cham neighborhood, Hoa Xuan Tai Ward, Dong Hoa City (Phu Yen) Almost everyone knows about Doan Thai Linh. He praised the strength of the three orphans as they faced the ups and downs of life over the years.
waking up after the incident
Linh’s simple small house next to Highway 1 is now looked after by her aunt – Ms Thai Xuan Thuy (44 years old) – as the three have gone to Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong to attend school and work.
Everything is empty and quiet, only the corner of Mother’s altar still seems to spread warmth in the house.
When Linh was only 9 months old, her father abandoned her and his four children to start a new family. Mrs. Thai Thi Hue – Linh’s mother – worked hard to raise three young children alone. Then in 2018, Ms. Hugh passed away suddenly.
Doan Thai Tuan – Linh’s eldest brother – still remembers his mother’s fateful moment. “That day my mother was sitting next to me in front of the house selling corn and suddenly collapsed. I screamed and everyone came to help her to the emergency room. The doctor said that her mother had diabetes for a long time and There were complications.” Due to which many organs stopped working. Shortly after, my mother passed away” – Tuan sadly.
Without father or mother, the eldest brother had to leave school for a year and work as an electrician to support his three brothers. He goes to work, and his two sisters stay at home and take turns cooking and cleaning.
“I can only encourage her to study so that her mother can feel safe. Fortunately, both of them tried their best to study. For many years, little Linh has been an excellent student, graduating from university with 25.8 points. Have passed” – Tuan claimed.
Skip breakfast to buy textbooks
Thai Linh has just passed the examination and entered the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (National University of Ho Chi Minh City) to major in Chinese Language.
Currently, she is living in Co May Hostel (Thu Duc city). The eldest brother, Tuan, studies and works, while the middle sister, Doan Thai Tran, is in her second year at FPT College, so when she received the news that her youngest brother had been accepted to the university , then the three of them became more worried. More than happy.
Thai Tran said that her youngest sister, Thai Linh, was the best student in the family since childhood. Therefore, Ms. Tran also tried to work part-time with her eldest brother because the three brothers promised each other to do their best to complete their studies, so each of them tried a little harder.
From the moment she arrived in Saigon, Linh dared to spend on anything she really needed. You go to the lecture hall for several days without food to reduce the burden on your brothers and sisters. “We both study and work. We don’t have much money, so every month I only spend a few hundred thousand rupees, then skip breakfast and save some money to buy textbooks,” Linh said.
Fascinated and determined to learn Chinese for a long time, Linh did not have the means to study further or purchase any materials. The girl from Fu Yen set her goal to complete university and become a Chinese teacher because since childhood she had dreamed of becoming a teacher on the podium.
Linh said that doing so was also fulfilling her mother’s wish while she was alive as she appreciated the kindness of many poor teachers who taught Linh for free.
well wisher of the three brothers
The three brothers talked about Mr. Nguyen Bao Toan, Vice Principal of Le Trung Kien High School, as the benefactor of their lives. Being a volunteer, Mr. Tone understood the family situation, so he found a way to help the three Linh brothers.
He has mobilized all possible resources to help the brothers as well as enable many to continue their education.
Ms. Huynh Thi Thanh Cuc – homeroom teacher – said that Linh had a spirit of determination and great effort to be able to enter university under such circumstances. She is an enthusiastic student and can communicate well in Chinese. “I hope everyone will help Linh achieve her dream” – Ms. Quec said.
