This solemn session was also the closing ceremony of the 7th Congress of the Vietnamese Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City this morning, November 5, at the Student Cultural House (Ho Chi Minh City National University Urban Area).
Those attending the congress included former Vice President Truong Mai Hoa, Secretary of the Central Youth Union – Vietnamese Student Association President Nguyen Minh Triot.
Ho Chi Minh City leaders include Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam – Commander of Ho Chi Minh City Command, Nguyen Huu Hiep, Secretary of the Thu Duc City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee. Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. Duong Anh Duc, Permanent Deputy Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thi Bach Mai and several leaders of city departments and branches.
The closing session of the congress was broadcast live on Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) and the information pages of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and Association.

459 official delegates representing more than 600,000 students in Ho Chi Minh City, who are officials and student members of the association, were convened on 4 and 5 November to attend the Congress for the 2023 – 2028 term.
The congress chose the action slogan of “Ho Chi Minh City students bright in knowledge, strong in skills, leading integration”, setting the key content for the next five-year term.
In particular, the Congress voted to agree to advance the project of a digital data portal on student movements and the Vietnamese Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City during the term.
In addition, the upcoming session will feature three events: Building and Developing Vietnamese Culture and People Among Ho Chi Minh City Students; The Vietnamese Student Association of the city participates in the creation of high-quality human resources for Ho Chi Minh City, the Southern Key Economic Zone and the entire country in the period 2023 – 2028; Student Initiative.
Additionally, the Congress also voted to select two projects for tenure, including: Supporting students to access credit sources for study in the period 2023 – 2028, Vietnamese Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City To improve the capability of the employees. HCM period 2023 – 2028.

Speaking at the congress, Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet, President of the Vietnam Student Union, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, evaluated the past term as a special term for the Ho Chi Minh City student movement.
There are many difficulties and challenges mixed with opportunities ranging from the COVID-19 pandemic, complex natural disasters, changes in training methods, digital transformation and artificial intelligence…
However, with enthusiasm and responsibility, the city staff, members and students have made very significant achievements, creating many impacts.
Executive Committee Term VII consists of 45 members
At the working session yesterday afternoon, the Congress negotiated and selected 45 people to join the Executive Committee of the 7th Ho Chi Minh City Vietnamese Students Association.
At the first conference, the Executive Committee discussed the re-election of Ms. Tran Thu Ha as President of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnamese Student Association for the 2023 – 2028 term.
Four siblings were negotiated to become vice presidents of the Vietnamese Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City, Term VII, including: Nguyen Tat Toan, Phan Tan Anh (Special Agency of the Youth Association), Nguyen Minh Uyen (University President (Student Union). Pedagogy of Ho Chi Minh City) and Tran Thi Kieu Anh (President of the Student Union of the National University of Economics and Law, Ho Chi Minh City).
The Oversight Committee of the Vietnamese Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City, Period VII consists of 7 members, Mr. To Minh Hieu was consulted to become the head of the committee.
Introducing the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnamese Student Association, Session VII, Ms. tran thu ha He said he was clearly aware of his responsibility in leading and developing the city’s student movement.
In particular, it is necessary to properly inherit the tradition with the enthusiasm of generations of student union leaders in different periods, the trust and love of Ho Chi Minh City leaders, and the trust of more than 600,000 students in the city.
“We promise to be determined to be a collective of action, solidarity, dynamism and creativity to successfully implement the resolutions, actions, programs and projects of the Congress, so that the Association can become a partner of the students of the city. To develop knowledge, solid skills and leading integration,” Ms Ha said.
The official delegation of 140 people and 14 alternate delegates attending the 11th National Students Union Congress were also seen accepting their duties at the Congress.
