In particular, the highlight of this mobile home lies not only in its clever arrangement on the original truck tank floor, but also in its interesting design with a stylish layered roof. Jacob Witzling, a former teacher and now a carpenter, said he designed the roof to have “as few right angles as possible, so that it can easily withstand strong winds when driving on the highway and that Look very unique too”.
Jacob Witzling and his girlfriend Sarah Underwood, a model and actress, traveled across the United States together in a strange wooden mobile home.
Jacob has several notable wooden structures above ground. But the truck cabin is the first “mobile wooden house” he’s actually built for himself, and it’s also the first project he’s done with his girlfriend. Together they traveled from one coast to the other and also decided to stay there.
The prototype of this unique mobile home is a 1979 Ford F-250 pickup truck. The truck’s built-in bed floor is also the “foundation” of the living area.
Like other cabins built by Jacob, this home is made from recycled materials, made entirely of wood inside and out, and has a special style that is aesthetically pleasing and ensures maximum efficiency. Pros

The living area includes a fully equipped kitchen and a sofa, with built-in storage under the chair. Loft windows provide plenty of natural light so the loft doesn’t feel stuffy. The furniture is designed to be multi-functional, compact, but big enough to take Jacob and Sarah across the 32,187 km of the United States, and enjoy experiences never possible in just one location.
The combination of aesthetics and practicality is a theme throughout all the cabins created by Jacobs
Jacob spent several years building small-scale homes (cabins) in forests across the United States. He said: “I started building cabins because when I was a kid, I loved castles and Ewoks (cute creatures that look like Japanese teddy bears).
star wars, I always wanted to live in a beautiful fairy tale house. I want to live like a hobbit. I have a great book about the Craft Movement of the 1970s. I read it as a child and imagined that one day I would live in one of those houses.”
After a long journey, the truck cabin now stands at the spot where the two were transformed into Rainforest Cabinland. This was also a temporary agreement between Jacob and Sarah. Due to not being taken away for a long time, the Ford pickup has started rusting, the house no longer has windows and looks desolate.
Still, sometimes the two go out for a drive in the car, even if it’s just a short trip to the beach. The car still attracts attention just like in its old glory. For those living in mobile homes, the truck cabin is truly a source of great inspiration
Living in a motorhome isn’t easy, mainly because classic pickup trucks break down more easily than newer vehicles. However, they consider it a memorable life for their love
