The former President stressed that in recent times, Vietnam’s foreign affairs activities have been extremely positive and effective, enhancing Vietnam’s role, status and reputation in the international arena.
In a vibrant general atmosphere, Vietnamese diplomatic representative agencies in the US have made efforts to promote bilateral relations in many areas, especially contributing to good preparation for upgrading Vietnam-Vietnam relations. America has become a comprehensive strategic partnership; Participate in the good preparation of the program for the President and the ministries, branches and localities to participate in the APEC 2023 Summit Week.
The President stressed that the relationship between businesses and regions is important, contributing to the realization of high-level commitments and agreements; Upgrading Vietnam-US relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership offers great opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in terms of economics, trade, investment, education, science, production and participation in the supply chain of high-quality goods.
The President hopes that the Vietnamese Embassy and representative agencies in the US will soon make efforts to materialize cooperation agreements. The President also urged Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities to participate more actively in the process.
With the Vietnamese Permanent Mission to the United Nations, the President suggested contributing to enhancing Vietnam’s relations with international organizations and strengthening the establishment of cooperative partners. Vietnamese representative agencies in San Francisco and Houston promote relations between Vietnamese localities and American localities, encouraging overseas Vietnamese to invest in the country.
The President also stressed the task of protecting civilians; Actively inform and exchange information so that the Vietnamese diaspora in the US can accurately, completely and accurately understand the current situation in Vietnam; Respond to the concerns and problems of overseas Vietnamese.
The same day, on November 14, the 34th APEC Foreign and Economic Ministerial Meeting (AMM 34) was attended by US Secretary of State Antony J. Co-chaired by Blinken and US Trade Representative Katherine Tai. The conference discussed measures towards two important goals of APEC: sustainable and inclusive growth and building a resilient and connected region.
APEC Ministers stressed the need to continue promoting regional economic integration towards the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP); unanimously approved recommendations on APEC structural reform; Called on Members to accelerate the implementation of APEC commitments, particularly the Food Security Roadmap to 2030, the Digital Economy/Internet Economy Roadmap, and the Framework and Action Plan to Reduce Natural Risks.
