The Volkswagen Viloren is expected to be launched in the Vietnamese market late this year or early next year. According to information received from the dealer, the car will be delivered in the first quarter of 2024. In Vietnam, there are 2 versions including Comfort and Highline, expected price is 1.9 billion VND.
The Volkswagen Viloren is aimed at a niche market
This price is in accordance with Volkswagen’s positioning in Vietnam: between luxury cars and popular cars. This is a niche market that is finicky when it comes to customers, and many consumers are hesitant when it comes to spending money, as they often want to “go the extra mile.”
According to experts, the main customer base of the Viloran will be those who really want a family car model that stands out from the crowd.
According to the submission that the sales consultant offers to customers, the Volkswagen Viloran Comfort will be the standard version, while the Highline will be the more advanced version. The exact name of the version may change at the time of launch.
As of now, the vendor continues to reveal more devices of this new model.
Accordingly, in terms of exterior, both versions of the Volkswagen Viloran have many similarities. The main difference is in the wheels. The Comfort uses 19-inch wheels, while the Highline uses 20-inch wheels.
The Comfort version uses regular LED lights, while the Highline has an IQ Light system (also known as Matrix LED). Power-open/close sliding side door.

The overall dimensions of the car to be sold in Vietnam will be 5,346 x 1,976 x 1,781 (mm), wheelbase will be 3,180 mm. Thus, the overall length and wheelbase of the Volkswagen Viloran is slightly better than the Kia Carnival (5,155 mm long and 3,090 mm long wheelbase).

The interior has many high-end equipment
Inside, the Viloran will have a number of high-level equipment such as a virtual cockpit (screen behind the steering wheel), seats with integrated heating, cooling and massaging, panoramic sunroof… The interior of the car is arranged with 3 rows of seats. With 7 seats, including 2 middle seats designed in business style with armrest and foot cushion.

Regarding the operating equipment, both versions use the same 2.0L turbocharged engine, 220 horsepower and 350Nm torque, combined with a 7-speed DSG gearbox and front-wheel drive system. This power ranges between the diesel and gasoline versions of the Kia Carnival.

The security technology on Viloran is quite thorough. The Comfort variant is expected to have advanced safety features like driver distraction warning, early collision warning and emergency brake support, intelligent adaptive throttle and front/rear collision sensors, 360-degree camera and automatic parking assist feature.
The Highline version has an additional lane change assist feature. The number of airbags on the Comfort and Highline variants is 7 and 9 airbags respectively.

With such equipment, it can be seen that the Volkswagen Viloran has many modern technologies and features from the standard version, which explains the expected price from 1.9 billion VND. The initial listed prices of other product lines like Tiguan Allspace, Teramont to small cars like Virtus, T-Cross are also higher than the popular segments.
In terms of segment, the Volkswagen Viloran shares the same “tray” with the Kia Carnival and Hyundai Custine. However, in terms of price, as expected, the Viloran will compete only with the Carnival – the car model that holds the best sales in the segment and is very difficult to overtake at the present time.
