The Guardian newspaper on September 10 reported, a man was sentenced to life in prison after the shocking secrets of him and his wife (also the victim’s biological mother) were exposed.
The victim in this case is 17-year-old Bernadette Walker. Bernadette went missing in July 2020 and is believed to have been murdered, but her body has never been found.

Bernadette was last seen on July 18, 2020, when her stepfather Scott Walker (51) picked her up from his parents’ home. The night before, Bernadette had slept at her grandparents’ house. Scott’s cell phone was turned off between 11:23 a.m. and 12:44 p.m. that day. Prosecutors insist this is when the murder took place, although they say there is no way of knowing exactly what happened to Bernadette.
Scott Walker claims Bernadette jumped out of the car and fled when he pulled over to the side of the road, but that’s when Bernadette disappeared without a trace.

Thought the case would come to a standstill, suddenly a diary of Bernadette was found. In it was an interesting line written a few days before she disappeared. Bernadette wrote: “I told my mother about him (Scott) and the abuse. My mother told me I was a liar and threatened to kill me if I called the police.”
It turned out that, before going missing, Bernadette had told her mother about her stepfather’s sexual abuse of her, but was dismissed by her mother.
According to the prosecutor, on July 16, Bernadette told her mother, Sarah Walker, 38, that her stepfather Scott had sexually abused her for years, but she did not believe what her daughter said. The prosecutor also argued that Scott killed his stepdaughter to “prevent Bernadette from continuing to report his despicable behavior.” However, Scott’s name firmly denied.
Bernadette took a close photo with her stepfather.
Prosecutor Lisa Wilding said Scott and Sarah Walker worked together to cover up the truth about Bernadette’s death. They also used the victim’s phone to send messages to create the impression that she was still alive. The two were no longer related at the time but still lived in the same house.
Scott Walker has never revealed what happened to Bernadette or where her body was hidden. Police have conducted an extensive search in the countryside around Peterborough, using a combination of drones, divers and sniffer dogs, to no avail.

At a sentencing hearing at Cambridge Court on September 10, Judge Justice McGowan said Scott Walker’s refusal to cooperate with police meant that Bernadette “didn’t get the respect she deserves. “. She said: “Some of her family members and friends continue to hope she may be alive and one day be able to return to them.”
During the trial on September 10, Scott Walker was sentenced to life in prison while Sarah was sentenced to 6 years in prison.
