Recently, the Hawaiian island government has decided to buy 174 crocodiles from Australia to “protect” the coastal area.
Accordingly, the Hawaii government is very headache when it has to continuously receive reports of shark attacks every year, most of which are fatal.
However, they also soon studied and discovered that within the past 40 years, there have been no (or very rare) cases of shark attacks on the Australian coast. The more scientists researched, the more surprised they were to realize that those areas were full of saltwater crocodiles.
Although the reason is not fully understood, it is understood that sharks do not like to touch crocodiles. Although it sounds like the crocodile is more inferior.
Realizing that Hawaii’s climate is very similar to that of northeastern Australia, the US government decided to import 174 saltwater crocodiles from Australia to release on the Hawaiian coast to repel sharks.

Since then, the Australian saltwater crocodile has become a protected animal in the US, with many pairs of crocodiles breeding and gradually turning into a native Hawaiian animal. Along with that is the promulgation of the Law banning the hunting, killing, trading and possession of saltwater crocodiles.
