China donates more than 100 military vehicles to Cambodia

China donated 107 military vehicles and other equipment to the Cambodian military police to “show strong solidarity and cooperation”.

The ceremony to receive 107 military vehicles and other equipment took place at the Phnom Chum Reak Reay military police training center in Kampong Chhnang province, Cambodia on September 20. General Tea Banh, Cambodia’s Defense Minister, said the number of modern military vehicles and equipment will further strengthen the country’s army.

“Officers must pay attention to training the unit to make effective use of military aid. This task is not easy and simple,” said General Tea Banh.

“This number of military vehicles and equipment is a grant from the Chinese Ministry of National Defense to Cambodia to use according to the needs of the Cambodian Ministry of Defense, as well as to promote our defense sector.”

General Tea Banh said the military aid comes at an important time when the Cambodian Defense Ministry is trying to build military relations with other countries.

Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Vuong Van Thien during the handover ceremony said, “China and Cambodia are good brothers, understanding each other, understanding each other and being good partners, talking less and doing more”.

“We sincerely hope Cambodia can play a more active and important role in regional security,” Wang said, adding that the Chinese military and Cambodian military police would strengthen cooperation to maintain stability. in the region and protect common interests.

The Cambodian Military Police is a branch of the Armed Forces of Cambodia, under the Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia, with a force of about 30,000 people. The Cambodian military police are deployed in all provinces and are responsible for maintaining public order and security in the country.

Phnom Penh and Beijing have increased military cooperation in recent years in many areas such as training and personnel training and maintaining high-level exchanges. Cambodia in June held a ground-breaking ceremony for a project to modernize the Ream naval base with help from China.
