Recalling the meeting between President Ho Chi Minh and Cuban President Fidel Castro, the Cuban Prime Minister emphasized that the two countries have built a lasting friendship and solidarity.

“On behalf of the Cuban people, I would like to accept this noble award – the medal bearing the name of President Ho Chi Minh,” Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz thanked the Party, State and people of Vietnam.

Vietnam is Manuel Marrero Cruz’s first destination outside of Latin America since taking office (December 2019), also the highest-level visit by a Cuban leader to Vietnam since 2018.
