Prime Minister Suga pledged to continue to support Vietnam in the fight against Covid-19 and thanked Vietnam for its interest in vaccinating Japanese citizens as well as supporting Japanese businesses in Vietnam.
President Nguyen Xuan Phuc thanked Japan for actively supporting Vietnam in the fight against Covid-19 and supporting the nearly 450,000 Vietnamese community in this country.
According to the Vaccine Diplomacy Working Group, by the end of August, Vietnam had received 33 million doses of the vaccine and may receive another 16-17 million doses this month.
Vietnam aims to receive 150 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine in 2021 to immunize about 70% of the population, in order to achieve herd immunity.
