This morning, September 5, President of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue led a high-ranking delegation of the National Assembly of Vietnam leaving Hanoi to start a working visit to Europe.
During this visit, National Assembly Chairwoman Vuong Dinh Hue will attend the 5th World Congress of Presidents of Parliaments (WCSP5) in Austria, working visit with the European Parliament (EP), Belgium and an official visit to Finland from September 5-11.
This is the first visit of a senior Vietnamese leader to Europe since the 13th Party Congress and after a 2-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the specific schedule, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, along with 114 National Assembly Chairs, House of Representatives Speaker, Senate President, and 30 Vice Presidents of the National Assembly from 104 member parliaments of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. (IPU), 7 associate members and 10 observers will participate in activities within the framework of the World Conference of Presidents of Parliaments organized by the IPU and the United Nations.
Mr. Hue will speak and raise Vietnam’s views at the plenary session on the topic “Parliamentary guidance for more effective multilateral cooperation to bring peace and sustainable development to the people and the Earth”. “.
He will also attend and discuss thematic sessions towards a global treaty on gender equality; mitigating the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic; post-pandemic recovery, transform the economy to respond to climate change and promote sustainable development…
