Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union said that, before the complicated developments of the weather and the COVID-19 epidemic, some localities in the province are implementing social distancing to prevent epidemics according to Directive 16, so the mobilization of human resources to prevent and control the spread of the virus has become very difficult. Focusing on harvesting early-ripening rice tea to avoid storms is facing difficulties.
In the past two days, Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union has mobilized 62 youth volunteer squads with the participation of nearly 1,000 union members and young people in districts such as Nhu Thanh, Nong Cong, Vinh Loc, Hau Loc, Hoang Hoa, and Ha. Trung goes to the fields to help farmers harvest summer rice to avoid storms.

The youth volunteer squads at the facility are divided into small groups to harvest rice for families with labor difficulties, households with people in medical isolation to prevent the COVID-19 epidemic, elderly households, single anchor in the area.
Mr. Le Van Chau – Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union – said that in the past two days, nearly 1,000 youth union members and young people in the province’s key rice districts have deployed to harvest nearly 60 hectares of rice in the storm season No. 5. Youth union members and young people are in charge of harvesting, grinding rice and transporting finished rice products to farmers’ homes.
“From the morning of September 11 to before the typhoon No. 5 landed on the mainland, in key rice districts, which are social distancing to prevent the COVID-19 epidemic under Directive 15, Directive 16 will gather union members, Young people help farmers finish harvesting early-season rice tea to avoid storms.
After the storm, the squad of young volunteers continued to help people who are under medical isolation to prevent epidemics, the elderly, and lonely households to harvest all the rice area of this crop,” added Mr. Le Van Chau.

These days, in many key rice districts of Thanh Hoa province, young people in green shirts volunteering in the fields to help farmers harvest the summer rice have become a familiar image to the people here.
The jobs and small actions for the community of the youth of Thanh have contributed to alleviating the worries of farmers before the rainy season and the COVID-19 epidemic.
