At about 5:25 p.m. on March 19 local time, Arkansas functional forces were dispatched to Dumas city, located in the southeast of the state, after receiving a report of a shooting here.

Dumas Police Chief Keith Finch, Arkansas, said it was not immediately clear how many children were injured.

The police also announced that they had arrested one suspect, but they think the number of gunmen may be more.

According to the magazine US News & World Reportsthe auto show is an annual community event, held in the spring to raise money for scholarships.

The auto show organizer Wallace McGehee said the event had not seen violence in 16 years.

“It’s a tragedy for something like this to happen. We’ve been on the show for 16 years with no problems,” McGehee told KATV at the scene.

Chris Jones, a Democrat running for governor of Arkansas, wrote on Twitter that he had attended the event the day before.

“I am deeply saddened and truly angered by this tragedy,” Jones added.

Arkansas authorities are investigating the cause of the shooting.
