Metro No. 2 has a total investment of 47,890 billion VND, passing through 6 districts: 1, 3, 10, 12, Tan Binh, Tan Phu, land acquisition area 251,136m2 with 603 cases affected.

Total cost compensation, site clearance, resettlement support (including provision for fees) for the project is nearly 4,353.8 billion VND.

Up to now, billions handover rate reached 78.7% (475/603 cases) and the investor received and handed over 5/10 stations and the road leading to Tham Luong depot.

It is expected that in 2022, the site clearance of this project will be completed. Private hthe item of relocation of technical infrastructure works along the route is expected to start construction within the year 2021.

The project has 7 main bidding packages, of which CP1 (thouse, office and works assistant at Tham Luong depot) completed in 2020.

The remaining main bidding packages are as follows: CP2 (Tham Luong depot infrastructure), CP3 (basement and underground stations)… are still depending on the mobilization of consultants to complete the bidding documents, organize the bidding…

In order to carry out the bidding and select the remaining main contractor of the project, the Urban Railway Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City has negotiated and negotiated contract addendum No. 13 with IC Consultants..

After a period of negotiation from 2020 to early 2021, the two sides failed to reach an agreement. TP agreed on the policy of concluding the negotiation of the contract appendix No. 13.

The investor worked with the sponsor to prepare the bidding plan, select the project implementation control consultant and supervise the construction. (CS2B Consulting), which replaces the work that IC Consultants are unfinished.

However, after that, IC Consultants had a written request to reopen negotiations so that they could continue to complete phase A of the IC contract with the willingness to cooperate. Currently, the investor is considering and working with this consultant on the outstanding issues of the contract before continuing to negotiate.

According to the City Urban Railway Management Board, after the IC Consultant is mobilized again or the CS2B Consultant is signed, these consultants will complete the bidding documents for the main bidding packages that are issued in the year. 2022 or 2023.

According to the decision No. 4880 of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on approving the project adjustment in 2019, metro No. 2 has construction progress in 2022 and operation at the end of 2026.

However, due to the COVID-19 situation, the schedule has been adjusted, according to which the main contractor will be selected from 2021-2023, construction of the project from 2023 and operation and exploitation in 2026.

In order to have a basis for implementing the next steps of the project on schedule, the HCMC Urban Railway Management Board recommends competent authorities to speed up the procedures to soon extend the disbursement time loan of German Bank for Reconstruction (KfW) and signed an additional loan agreement for the project.
