The picture that caused Duong Ba Ho to be scolded as obscene and shameless: Bringing a hundred years of injustice because people are illiterate!

Duong Ba Ho is a familiar name known to many generations of Vietnamese audiences through comedy films “Ba Ho Street, Thu Huong Point” of the comedian Chau Tinh Tri. Tang Ba Ho in the film is portrayed in a typical playful exaggerated style but still exudes the talent and style of historical archetypes.

According to historical records, Duong Ba Ho (1470 – 1524) or Tang Dan was a real character who lived during the Ming Dynasty. He is known as a talented painter, but due to dissatisfaction with the times, he rebelled, made art without rules, and even frequented the green floor.

Throughout her life, immersed in rosy cheeks, Duong Ba Ho composed a large amount of poetry and paintings related to femininity, enjoyment and sex. Also from here the life and art of the poets of the Tang family made people talk about both the good and the bad.

One of Tang Ba Ho’s most controversial paintings is the painting “Nu Tu Tu” dating back more than 500 years.

The painting depicts a young mother holding an elderly person in her arms and feeding her milk while the child at her feet pulls her shirt and calls for her mother. During the Ming Dynasty, many people criticized the painting’s obscene scenes and embarrassed them, but this is a complete misunderstanding!

“Nuu Tu” is actually a picture of filial piety that moves people’s hearts, accompanied by a piece of calligraphy above. However, because most of the people at the time could only see the pictures without knowing the words, they misunderstood the author’s intention.

The truth about Tang Ba Ho’s painting

According to the title line of “Nu Co Do”, this painting was inspired by Duong Ba Ho’s short story in the book “Two ten and four filial piety” (24 examples of filial piety) compiled by writer Quach Cu Nghiep.

The story is told that during the Tang Dynasty there was a family of the Cui family, The old lady in the house was very old, her teeth fell out, so she could not eat or drink anything. Seeing the old woman getting sick and sick, the new-born niece-in-law used her mother’s milk to feed her for many years. Thanks to that, the old woman was healthy, the Thoi family inherited the blood of filial piety, many generations passed as a mandarin.

In the painting of Duong Ba Ho, he also created more details of a son clinging to his mother’s skirt to ask for milk. This detail is included to touch the viewer, reminding people not to forget their parents and grandparents because they are so busy taking care of their children that they also need love and care. This is truly a meaningful, creative work!

However, because it was not possible to read Duong Ba Ho’s words, many people thought that the old woman in the picture was an old man, causing the author to receive many unjust accusations.

Talking about the famous painter Duong Ba Ho, his childhood was attached to his mother because his father was busy with a living. Unfortunately, when Duong Ba Ho was only 24 years old, his family had a great tragedy and both his parents died one by one.

The early separation caused the talented young man to suffer a lot. Perhaps that is why the theme of the mother has appeared many times in his work, Duong Ba Ho also included in the picture the pain of his parents’ early death, unable to repay the filial piety to his parents.

Successful and famous, but very few works of Duong Ba Ho are handed down to posterity. The Duong Ba Ho paintings circulating in China are actually copied by posterity, not the original paintings, so their value has decreased a lot.
