The Government Office has just issued Document No. 8980 on December 8 conveying the Prime Minister’s direction regarding the proposal of the Vietnam Association of Mechanical Enterprises (VAMI) on building a development strategy for the fuel vehicle industry. Vietnamese clean material.

Accordingly, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the Minister of Industry and Trade to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies in, studying and handling the recommendations of the Vietnam Association of Mechanical Enterprises on the proposal to build Strategy to develop clean fuel vehicle industry in Vietnam; report to the Prime Minister the results of implementation before December 10, 2021.

Previously, the Vietnam Association of Mechanical Enterprises sent the Prime Minister a proposal on a strategy to develop the clean fuel vehicle industry to attract foreign investment towards exports in the next 5 years in Vietnam.

According to this association, based on Vietnam’s commitments on the roadmap for applying climate change criteria at COP 26, Vietnam is currently cooperating extensively with countries around the world as well as the region to reduce CO . emissions2 In order to avoid pollution, the current trend in countries around the world is towards the development of clean fuel vehicles.

In fact, countries in the world including the US, Europe, China and in the region, Thailand, have taken the lead in developing the automotive industry using clean fuel in car production to solve the problem of carbon emissions.

The Vietnam Association of Mechanical Enterprises found that currently, Vietnam has not developed a specific mechanism and roadmap on carbon exchange policies and infrastructure construction (electrical charging stations) on a national scale.

Meanwhile, a number of businesses have also begun to develop production and assembly of clean fuel vehicles in the country to match Vietnam’s commitment to the world on reducing carbon emissions, and at the same time in line with the trend. development of countries around the world towards the future of the clean fuel automobile industry.

Therefore, this association proposes that the Government soon study and promulgate a strategy to develop the clean fuel automobile industry in order to promptly integrate with the general development trend of the world and the region to help manufacturing enterprises. Vietnam’s automobile exporter and assembler can produce clean fuel cars oriented to the domestic market in the direction of environmental protection and export.
