Trinh Dang Khoa, a student at Nguyen Khuyen High School (Soc Trang) is the valedictorian of the province with a total score of 37.35.

Every subject is interesting and useful

Once the double valedictorian in Grade 10 in both Maths and English, Ngoc Tan is not only good at Math and English, but also studies all subjects. For me, every subject has interesting and useful things. In class, I try to focus on listening to the teacher to master the basic knowledge. From that knowledge, apply it to problem solving. Tan added, I rarely have time to refer to websites online. Mainly trying to complete thoroughly, understand deeply and review regularly is enough.

To prepare for the important exam at the end of high school, Tan prepares his knowledge right from the moment he enters 10th grade. Determined to study in block B with 3 subjects Math, Chemistry and Biology, he invests his time in these 3 subjects. but still learning all the subjects. With his favorite math subject, right from the beginning of grade 12, Tan completed the curriculum in textbooks and started solving mock exams.

Entering the sprint phase, every day, Tan spends about 1 hour reviewing each subject. I try to solve the types of exercises in the mock tests of the provinces, the exam questions of the previous years… While solving the problems, when I encounter difficult questions, I always try to find out the method to solve. Any problem that I don’t understand, I discuss with teachers and friends to find the optimal solution and continue to conquer more difficult questions.

“In the process of solving exam questions, I focus on quality over quantity. I do not set a goal to solve many problems, the wrong sentences I learned from experience. One week before the exam, I solve 1-2 mock tests every day to consolidate my knowledge and get used to the rhythm of the exam in the exam room. Allocate reasonable time for study and rest. I don’t stay up late. When you finish solving the problem, review your old knowledge and take advantage of early sleep”, Ngoc Tan shared.

Born in a family with a soldier father, Tan inherited his father’s style, so Tan soon knew how to self-study and arrange time for learning and playing. Tan entered a gifted high school with the title of double valedictorian in both Math and English exams.

However, I am not complacent about what I have achieved and constantly strive for new achievements. I won the second prize for excellent student in math at provincial level in 2 years of grade 11 (exam) and grade 12. The average score of 3 years of 10th, 11th and 12th grade is 9.8, 9.9, 10 respectively. The academic vice class is also always at the top of the class. Not only am I good at natural knowledge, but I’m also very good at English, having just achieved 8.5 IELTS. In the first round of competency assessment in 2022 of the National University of Ho Chi Minh City, Ngoc Tan excellently achieved the second runner-up with a score of 1,083/1,200 (1 point lower than the valedictorian).

Tan’s achievement is not only a process of striving and forging. training, but also contribute to inspire juniors, continue the good study tradition of school students…
