On September 7, in Vienna – Austria, the 5th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament (WCSP5) was solemnly opened with the participation of more than 100 delegations from member countries and observers. of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

The high-ranking delegation of the National Assembly of Vietnam, led by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, attended the conference with the general theme of: “Parliamentary leadership for multilateralism is more effective to bring peace and sustainable development for the people and the earth”.

Speaking at the plenary session, National Assembly Chairwoman Vuong Dinh Hue shared the view that sustainable development should focus on taking care of human health and protecting the environment rather than just focusing on growth. economy at all costs.

The National Assembly Chairwoman emphasized that the fact that many valuable lessons have been drawn on environmental pollution, natural disasters, climate change, epidemics and the Covid-19 pandemic is a profound warning about paying attention to the environment. The National Assembly Chairwoman emphasized that Vietnam is eager to cooperate and share with other countries and international organizations to prioritize people’s health, environmental protection and economic development.

On the same day, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue met with President of the Japanese Senate Santo Akiko in Vienna. The National Assembly Chairman thanked Japan for helping Vietnam with nearly 3 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine, considering this a noble gesture.

The President of the National Assembly wishes that in the near future, Japan will continue to provide medical equipment; support, transfer the remaining vaccine source, consider cooperation in the production of vaccines and drugs to treat Covid-19 so that Vietnam has more sources of vaccination vaccines for working people and workers. in industrial parks and export processing zones to ensure supply chains and production for businesses, including Japanese ones.

National Assembly Chairwoman Vuong Dinh Hue also suggested that Japan encourage Japanese businesses to continue to increase business investment in Vietnam, aiming for recovery and development in the “new normal” conditions.
